Position summery:
To oversee all aspects of plant performance and ensure business objectives are attained in a cost effective manner without compromising on quality.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Quality Control
Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations
Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
Be responsible for output, quality and on-time completion of assembly
Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
2. Administration & System Controls including KPI’s
Ensure all operations are undertaken correctly within the Law and within the company’s code of conduct and compliance procedures and with policies and procedures set by both Franchise agreements and the Company rules.
Review all activities within profit and cost centres and maintain management information systems that allow for accurate recording of such activities within KPI framework
3. Finance Controls
Maintain control of departments and other costs to minimize company expenses without adversely affecting company standards or service levels.
Maintain fiscal controls to control cash flow and control borrowings.
Closely control all management accounts and daily and weekly operating controls and KPI’s
Cash flow forecasts and planning to avoid shortage of funds and need for unauthorized borrowings.
4. Reports
Daily DOC’s to be submitted to the GM 
Provide monthly reports on operations for month and year to date to the GM and National Managers
Provide reports on Manufacturers, customers, suppliers and operational activities to management.  
Review all activities within profit and cost centres and maintain management information systems that allow for accurate recording of such activities within KPI framework.
5. Communication & Interaction
Maintain professional and good relations with all managers and staff at all times
Maintain professional and regular relationship with manufacturers, business partners, Professional and trade associations, statutory bodies, representatives of suppliers.
6. Control of Resources
Stringent control of expenses without effecting business performance.
Review of DOC on a daily basis and management accounts on monthly basis and review of KPI’s regularly.
Report to GM on daily, weekly and monthly basis regarding areas of concern or opportunities
Maintain effective staff levels in accordance with the needs of the business 
Meet all legislative and insurance and health and safety requirements.
7. Staff Relations
Establish TNA and plan training in conjunction with the Training & development manager and maintain records to enable cost effective staff development.
Develop in house training using internal skilled staff to effectively control expenditure.
Motivate staff to obtain highest level of commitment and ensure customer needs met.
Build staff relationship and provide them with support, coaching and encouragement to improve their performance.
Operate staff appraisal and review process and take necessary actions on the results.
Review salary scales and incentive schemes where required
Ensure all staff understand the DG code of conduct and compliance and are committed to the principles and ethics of the Dealership and Group.
8. HSE
Observe all company health, safety and environmental instructions, act in a safe manner and avoid unnecessary risks to themselves and others
Immediately report any unsafe conditions or activities, dangerous occurrences or injuries in the workplace
Execute any incident investigation thoroughly by analysis and follow-up in order to take immediate corrective actions and prevent recurrence
Assist new and existing employees in the use of relevant work procedures and practices in order to ensure their safety and the safety of all employees
Adhere and practice safety as per the company HSE guidelines and policy at all times
9. Other duties:
Any other duties as and when required by the Board that are reasonably within the capabilities of the person and aimed at achieving the Company or Group goals.

Minimum Qualification & Experience:
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering plus MBA degree.

Experience:
5+ years of proven experience in a related field, managing a Plant

  • Proven experience as plant manager

  • Driven and able to tolerate stress
  • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources
  • Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
