What:
If you hold this position you will be responsible to manage all regulatory issues and projects related to consumer rights and obligations in order to  minimize infringements and contribute in achieving the regulatory department’s objectives.  

How:

  • Manage all consumers’ complaints received through the regulators and actively participate in processes needed to rectify those complaints.
  • Manage the consumers responsibility related issues from regulatory perspective such as:

    1.    Fraud.
    2.    Blacklisting and bad debts.
    3.    Registration.
    4.    Legal complains.
    5.    EIR


  • Manage the customer rights related issues from regulatory point of view such as:


    1.    USF and national roaming projects and its CFT`s, processes and outputs, and any other access project or initiative.
    2.    QoS issues.
    3.    Rectification of non-conformities with possible hazard on life and environment. This is to be done though collaboration with internal related entities.
    4.    MNP regulatory operations and any other project or initiative related to the customer tight of choice.
    5.    All issues related to the customer right of exchanging information related to his subscription. These are such as complaints channels and the related processes and updates.
    6.    All issues related to the customer right of being protected against unwanted, illegal and inappropriate contents and communications.


  • Actively monitor the events and evolutions regarding the consumer protection and present the expected impact on Zain operation.
  • Actively participate in the consultation papers of Consumer protection relation and contribute to the internal awareness process and the negotiation with the regulators.
  • Participate in setting the Regulatory Affairs Department yearly strategies, targets and objectives and align it with the company business plan in terms of consumer affairs.
  • Participate in developing processes, procedures, activities and systems related to consumers affairs.
  • Provide consumers affairs related advice and support to assure that the required performance is up to the strategy, road map and the business plan and compliance conditions.
  • Receive, analyze and circulate all correspondences between Zain and the regulators that are relevant to consumer affairs.
  • Responsible for the Regulatory Team Database and fulfillment of regulators` data obligations that impact consumers’ affairs.
  • Respond to the internal requests with advice and regulatory approvals concerning consumer affairs whenever applicable.
  • Prepare and conduct periodic and ad hoc awareness sessions that will raise the internal regulatory awareness and understanding regarding consumers’ affairs.
  • Handle the periodic and adhoc reports both for the internal and external clients that concern consumers’ affairs in a timely and efficient manor.
  • Work closely with other department entities to help performing the department strategies and plans.
  • Enhance the relation with all regulators in terms of consumers’ affairs.
  • Represent the company in local, regional and international consumers’ affairs related events.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable policies & regulatory requirements on Information Security.

What Do I Need:
You will be asked to have :

  • B.S.c. in Telecommunications Engineering, business, economy or  any other relevant field.
  • Minimum 3 years previous experience of Telecom business, Regulatory or technology in a reputed organisation.
  • Good Experience in Project Management.
  • Good Technical knowledge (GSM) Network Topology.
  • Good economics knowledge.
  • Demonstrable Telecommunication market knowledge and commercial acumen, and have spent significant time in the Telecom Operators in the same / related roles.
