Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)  
Main purpose of job:

The Security Supervisor assists the Post Security Manger in the key role of keeping Embassy/DFID staff members, families, information, and properties safe and protected ensuring security is maintained at a commensurate level in which all staff comply with the security regulations and procedures.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:
  • Responsible for the day to day supervision of all Embassy/DFID security guards and posts both at the Embassy/DFID and staff residences in accordance to the  ‘Duty Supervisor Guide’  and the ‘Security Guarding Assignment Instructions’
  • Be the authorized representative of the Overseas Security Manager and Post Security Manager in communicating policies, procedures and other security related instructions and information to the security guards.
  • Ensures that all Embassy/DFID security posts and residential locations are fully manned during his/her duty shift.
  • Carries out a minimum of two rounds of patrol tour every duty shift at each residential locations in accordance to Form One of the  ‘Patrolling Supervisor’s Checklist’
  • Reports on time any guards’ unauthorised absence, failure of duty, dysfunctional equipment, and out of order physical security structure such as locks,  gates , and compound lights
  • Reports  any violation of security regulations by Embassy/DFID staff members to the OSM and/or PSM

  • Responds swiftly to calls of UK-based staff members in the event of incidents such as vehicle accidents, intruder at residence, and aggressive encounters by being quickly on the spot and interacting with the relevant law enforcement bodies.
  • Plays pro-active role in continuously raising guards’ level of performance and professionalism through varies modes of training.
  • Carries out the yearly staff performance appraisal as a Reporting Officer (RO) for the limited number of guards assigned to him/her as Job Holders (JHs).
  • PRISM-manage the data of guards who are specifically assigned to him/her by ensuring timely entries of required data.
Essential qualifications and experience  
  • Good driving skills with valid driving Licence
  •  Effective and efficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Two or more  years of experience in the operation of the Embassy security system or in similar situation or area
Desirable qualifications and experience  
Experience in the use of security equipment & radio communication
