Position summery:
To Assist in execution of geological exploration activities in the field (Stream & Soil sampling, geological mapping, trenching and drilling).
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- To assist and execute geological exploration activities in the field (Stream & Soil sampling, geological mapping, trenching and drilling) .
- To provide Geo-science supervision of his team and contractors.
- To provide analysis and interpretation of the geology (using all tools at his disposal including computer software).
- To contribute to exploration program reviews.
- To conduct sampling process in totality, including physical sampling, trenching and drilling.
- To report and make recommendations to superiors and managers by means of meetings,verbal reports and in writing in accordance with immediate supervisor's/manager's request.
Minimum Qualification & Experience:
- A University degree in Geology
- Formal qualification in exploration
- Training courses
- Knowledge / experience of the local exploration industry (intensive)
- Knowledge / experience of national geology
- Experience with computer and MS Office Apps (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and dedicated geological software
- 1 year experience
Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external parties (local) at all levels
Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with local people and colleagues
Numerate, analytical, attention to detail
Intensive knowledge of the geology & exploration market
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Able to multitask and work on a variety of activities simultaneously
A strong-sense of teamwork
Fluency in English language
