Job Summary:
• As System & Mediation Specialist you’ll provide enterprise-wide Unix/Linux System infrastructure support for complex system and interconnected technologies that require day-today support and administration in order to maintain optimum performance and utilization. Provide support in the following areas: Sun Solaris, HP-UX, AIX and Linux Systems Operational Support, VERITAS Cluster, Sun Cluster, Data Guard and server virtualization administration, Enterprise Netbackup, Data Protector for UNIX systems and applications including various existing MTN applications. • As System & Mediation Specialist you’ll be expected to configure & test new service data’s (CDR’s) flow and Administrate ETL of data in MTN Sudan. You will be expected to analyse and fix all the Mediation related issues coming in the Billing and Data Warehouse systems because of configuration problem or any data corruption. You will be expected to interact with Billing Operation, DWH, ERP, IN, VAS, Engineering and Finance department for implementing and configuring new products/Services, designing ad-hoc reports, integrating with different systems and reconciling with different carriers for setting dispute. Generate monthly and weekly reconciliation reports that generated from different network elements and systems.
Description:
- UNIX Systems Engineering: Technical Services related to the system architectural design for UNIX OS environment, enterprise wide system standards and operating policies.
- UNIX Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery: Technical Services supporting backup and restore of data, business continuity methods and policies, system High availability and Disaster Recovery strategy and testing.
- UNIX Systems Operations: Technical Services providing proactive monitoring of UNIX systems environment and problem resolution, user support, system application support, Operating System support, hardware/software system installation, configuration and maintenance.
- UNIX Systems Documentation: Technical Services supporting the procurement of cost effective and efficient UNIX hardware/software systems, maintaining UNIX environment documentation including standard operating procedures.
- Administrate EMM system and making sure that over all operation of the EMM system are smooth.
- Administrate OLM system and making sure that over all operation of the OLM system are smooth.
- Write PL/SQL, Shell or Perl Scripts to fix bulk data in Billing & Reporting production.
- Plan, develop, schedule and run monitoring scripts, including correction of rejected CDRs for reprocessing for both Mediation and Interconnect CDRs based on billing requirements.
- Generate various reports out of processed CDRs.
- Plan, perform and report on daily operations, and maintain procedures for daily operation.
- Help DBA, Billing, DWH, Engineering, ERP and Finance team in obtaining required data for their requirements.
- Optimize Storage by implementing technologies that automate placing less frequent data in a cheaper media within the Enterprise Storage System.
- Implements and operates Data replication across the Data Centers to ensure that data is readily available in case disaster happened.
- Setup, configure, and perform day-to-day maintenance and administration of all storage area network (SAN, DAS and NAS) storage.
- Perform san analysis and capacity planning across the environment against business requirements and forecast.
Job Requirements:
• Possess a Bachelor's Degree from university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, and Business Administration, Engineering or a closely related field. • Possess UNIX administrator certificates (Oracle Solaris Certified associate / Oracle Solaris Certified Professional/ Red Hat Linux System Administration).
• Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience
Required Skills:
• Extensive knowledge and experience in supporting and troubleshooting UNIX networking services and protocols: TCP/IP, NIS, DNS, NFS, LDAP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, SNMP, SSL, HTTP.
• UNIX environment with Oracle, Java application server and Web sphere
